Wouldn't it be Nice

Changes occur all the time. Some changes occur without warning, but some can be anticipated to a certain extent. A personal computer offers hours of entertainment through the thousands of games available. Many of us young and old learned to appreciate computer games through playing games with it, isn’t that correct? In fact, computers are already a part of our lives, and later on, did we forgot that mother nature needed us? That she needed our help to take care and not to destroy her? What about sunrise? what about sunset? The views don't even give us excitement. Our nutrition? We didn't care, we were blinded through our adherence with gadgets, the food we intake daily doesn't fill up the nutrition our body needs. Wouldn't it be nicer if we lessen the use of gadgets? Wouldn't it be nice if we take care of our health first? Wouldn't it be nice if together we rebuild our future, bring back mother earth? Wouldn't it be nice if we start in our families?

Yearly, Nutrition Month is always celebrated in the Philippines. "Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin." This year's theme stresses the aim of food gardening among us Filipinos especially, with our families. The National Nutrition Council (NNC) encourages us to plant fruits and vegetables, in order for us to plant eat healthier meals. You see, the food you plant and the ones you buy is not always the same from the nutrition you get. In our generation, you might say planting is not a thing anymore. Yes, because we believed that  planting is only for lowly-standards people. we penetrated ourselves into what's new, we were afraid that we might get left behind. Even parents' they were also busy, instead of preparing their kids nutritional meals, they were into fast foods, ready-to-eat meals that was not appropriate for our body. Right now, I think people in the provinces are much healthier than the ones living in the cities. Because they are the ones planting their foods. They use organic fertilizers not the artificial. My point is fresh fruits and vegetables are much healthier that the ones in the supermarkets. Because they were stored, and I believe, lots of chemicals are already present.

So, "UGALIING MAGTANIM,SAPAT NA NUTRISYON AANIHIN," you might say it's hard but if there's a will, there's a way. Think of the future, you can't let them live in a polluted planet. They need us. We are the future of the future. It's not only for our generation but for our sons and daughters in the incoming generation.

Letter to the President

July 02, 2017

Dear Mr. President,

Greetings of Peace!

I am Lance Aeron Tagorda and I am currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School. From this letter I would like to share my thoughts about your project. Also I would like to show some gratitude for your good deeds.

Before you became the President of the Philippines, you have already proven that you are a good leader from your own city, Davao. Since the start, your main goal was that Philippines will be a drug-fee society. You really hated drugs. You never stop even if it will take lives just to stop them. But stopping them sometimes put ordinary people into fear. They are threatened.
Mr. president, let me be honest in saying this: Rodrigo Roa Duterte is both good and bad as a leader of the Filipinos. I think you are better than the previous Philippines Presidents in the matter of decisive actions and possessing political wills. I did not yet exist in Marcos’ era, but I think you are following his footprints in raising the Philippines.
Hence I wish you well.

Being a President must be really hard and stressful for you. So I, as one of your citizens will always have faith and will always trust whatever decisions you will take in improving this country. Some may dislike your attitude, but it does not matter. I think you are the best President suitable for this country.

Though I wish as well and pray that you will have time to realize what needs improvement and transformation in governing this country for genuine peace and progress, and the betterment of the entire Filipino Nation.

Hope you will get to read this open letter and I wish you good health.

Thank you and may God Bless the Philippines under your administration.

Sincerely Yours,
LANCE AERON TAGORDA

Here I stand! Here I'll stay

"Let it go! Let it go! I can't hold it back anymore, Let it go! Let it go! Turn away and slam the door. Here I stand, and here I'll stay. Let the storm rage on, the cold never bothered me anyway."     ~Elsa
We can relate from the song in many ways. The Philippines, Philippines was colonized by many countries. It is the song of the Filipinos, "let us go!! Go away and never come back," because this is our home, where we stay.
The purpose of many countries in colonizing the Philippines was because it was full and was rich of natural resources and to enlarge their territory. The Spanish colonization lasted for 333 years. We were slaves and were treated like dogs on our own country. They took something from us and they stepped on our prides and dignities. We were blinded, blinded by the Spaniards about the real society we belong. But comes a day, 2 famous men stepped up to fight for our country and rights as Filipinos. Doctor Jose Rizal's Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo was the key to our freedom for it wakes us up about the truths about this society. Andres Bonifacio's bravery that he formed a team to fight the Spaniards and many others. July 12,1898, it was the exact day when Independence Day was proclaimed. The Spanish colonization has ended. We are celebrating Independence Day because it is our pride. Our flag serves as the protector of the country. Celebrating Independence Day is also a way to honor and respect the sacrificed lives in seeking freedom. Also, if we celebrate it, it gives us inspiration and courage to fight others if someone tries to take what's ours again. It is also the best opportunity to rekindle the cultures from the past.
Therefore, we Filipinos should never forget "June 12" as " Philippine National Flag Day". for it is pur pride. we are now living in a peaceful country so why not try to improve it? This is where we stay, this is where we stand. "Never let anyone step on us". This is how we do it.
