I'm not Too Good at Goodbyes

Stepping in a new room is very nerve-wracking, but exciting at the same time. I get to see both familiar and new faces. I look at the 35 people with me, and see how fear was etched onto their faces. I take a seat and wait for our adviser. Minutes passed and she enters with a bag in her hand. It’s finally beginning. This is the start of the school year. But as days go by, we start to either converge, diverge, or probably even slide pass each other. But all of our journeys are worth blogging. Remember the first time we met our teacher in TLE?

 She was Mrs.Evelyn Vera Cruz. She put me in Station no.8 and I will never forget. That station has a lot of memories we have embroidered together. Those lessons she taught. How come I will forget those? But the question is? Do I deserve not going to that room anymore? I will really miss it. And the answer is, I am not ready. I cannot leave that room. I'm not done making memories, yet. All those blogs she made us do, was nothing compared to the happiness we have shared together.

I'm not fond of saying goodbyes, but as I will enter the next grade level. It will be easier for me. And I will not be ashamed to say, "Ma'am Evelyn taught me." So, I hope we will soon meet again, one day. Thank you!

I believe, therefore I will be!

People say life is easier when you enjoy the most of it. Well, I say they don't know what they're just talk-talking about. Because this life is full of cruelty and misery. Talk about school, go to school and they give you lots and lots of work and requirements, to the point that you don't know what to do anymore. You cannot do anything but cry. Cry in agony and ask for sympathy, but that won't do any. School has become a place of compliance and not learning anymore.

Right now I'm on the point wherein I feel so ashamed of myself because of the failures I've reached. I feel like a disgrace. There are times I cried hard because I couldn't handle it anymore, sometimes I feel stressed having to realize there are lots of works before me. Everyday, I go to school looking disappointed and irritated. Until one day, I bump into a man. He was well-looking, neat, handsome, and judging through his appearance, he seems wealthy because he's wearing a suit, and he seems to have a lot of friends. He laughed at me and said, " I can't remember I was such a cry baby, I can't believe I was an incompetent man," he laughed again and he disappeared. I came to realize that was me in 2029. How motivated I was when that incident happen, at last, I found the sweetest smile and burning passion I needed.

I came to a realization, that life doesn't always give you what you want, you need to strive and work hard for it. People laugh at me whenever I tell them what my dream is. They would say, "Keep dreaming litlle kid, I wish you will achieve what you dreamed for," sarcastically. They would say, dreams are just dreams, and they can never be turn into a reality. But then, I have a pledge pf commitment. I would bravely say, that "with God, nothing is impossible. I believe, with all the desire and determination I have, it's not impossible to achieve those dreams. One day, I will learn how to climb a tree full of ripen mangoes.  I will become a lawyer, and that is my dream. You can't stop me! I believe, therefore I will be!

Preparation! Anticipation! Satisfaction!

"Hello from the other sideeeeeeee, I must've called a thousand timesssss, to tell you I'm sorry, for everything that I've done, but when I call you never seem to be homeeee. Hello from the outss......" It was at this moment when my singing mind came to a realization.... it was my alarm clock.  It was 7:38 in the morning. " Oh shittt! I'm late! What do I do? ma'am will kill me. Oh my goodness! Why!!??", these are common reactions for people who wakes up at 7:38 AM and has a program at 7:30 AM. But I am different, the chills are on my bones. " Where are you!? Hurry, the parade will start!", said my classmate, and I'm just like, " Okay, I'll take a bath." Hahaha

It was the 117th Foundation day of my school, and I'm late for the program "again." It is one of the most anticipated and awaited days of every students of Ilocos Sur National High School. As early as the 1st weeks of February, students are already preparing for the field demonstration, the highlight of the event. Not only students are involved, but also the teachers. And a fun fact is that the teachers also prepares for their field demo, which I find cute. Because of this, we can understand clearly how the people of ISNHS value and give commemoration to the founders of the school. 

Over 8,000 people celebrates this event. This is the only time we can see Ilocos Sur National High School get united. Some students celebrate it  by not going to school because they think it was a rest day, but for me, I went because I wanted to relax, just chill and hang out with my friends. Being able to participate on these kind of big events is quite honorable for me, and I am so much proud, being a student of Ilocos Sur National High School.

'Ylocos' Sure!!

 Ilocos Sur, our very own province has rich and stunning cultures and traditions that we, Ilocanos must be proud of. In order to showcase these, we have important festivals just to exhibit and promote precious products and cultures of Ilocanos. One of these is the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival which is a week-long festive of happiness for local and foreign tourists as more entertaining events are included in the celebration. 

.Kannawidan Ylocos Festival became an annual festival that aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province' rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products of the province.

            Kannawidan Festival is a great opportunity for us, Ilocanos, to show what we got and our appreciation to our culture and everything that makes up Ilocos Sur; to show the Ilocano spirit! The said festival is a great trend to the youth and old ones as well to witness what we have that may affect our pleasure and satisfaction with the event. Perhaps, the said affair is a way for some to really know more about the different places in the province! Surely, it astounds and astonish each who will come and visit it. 

            Somehow, this (I believe) is an event that gives importance to every Ilocano! It is a way to appreciate the culture we have; to study every single detail that makes our culture; to understand what we really have; to preserve those significant cultures and to promote what we can offer to everyone willing to know those important things! Moreover, let us all preserve these cultures for next generations and this will serve as our trademark as an Ilocano.

Change Brings Opportunity and It Starts With Me

Things and people change. Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. You will grow and learn new things every time something changes. You discover new insights about different aspects of your life. You learn lessons even from changes that did not lead you to where you wanted to be. Frequent changes make you easily adapt to new situations, new environments, and new people.To change is to improve and to be perfect is to change often.Accomplishing anything great in life requires significant change that pushes us beyond our comfort zones.

 Many times, the only way to improve our lives is to force ourselves to undergo difficult change. That might mean breaking up and leaving anything that’s holding us back from reaching our dreams. Of course, dealing with uninvited change in our lives is often difficult and painful. But whatever change you’re dealing with, know that how you cope with that change will have an impact on your future.

No matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change and become a better version of yourself.  Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do. Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.  And the greatest mistake you can make in life is to continuously fear of taking a new step and uttering a word.

They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. No one ever knows what each change may bring. When you turn from your usual path there will be plenty of different opportunities waiting for you. Changes will bring new choices for happiness and fulfillment.

As we go on with our life, many things will change. One may say that his/her priorities are now more of a dream; and one may claim that he/she is a better person now. But no one has the right to question our personality even the person we trust or know us for a long time – remember that no one truly knows who we really are except ourselves. With that, we are the one who has the power to decide everything for ourselves, but also remember that the decisions we make are the first reason for everything that happens in the community we belong! 


Each change is a turning page. It is about closing one chapter and opening another one. Changes bring new beginnings and excitement to life. You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. Never give up.  Change start on you, Change starts in me.

REBIRTH!

The moment we are out inside our mother's womb, life took its place and our nature defines every action we take. The incapability to resist ourselves from doing wrong things makes a great scratch in our pure soul. We become helpless, we become hopeless, and we regret the wrong things we have done. However, there is God.

A sunrise is a way of God saying, we should start again. Everyday is a beginning that God himself has set for us. He is giving us the opportunity not to erase what we have done wrong yesterday or make the same mistake but to make things right how it should be. We should also consider the fact that every new year is also a new chapter of our lives or let's say it our "Rebirth". 

At some instances, our beginning isn't always perfect, or go accordingly. Sometimes, we are afraid to fail on how we should begin. We are pulled by doubts to our own capabilities. We have our minds and hands to fulfill something but what's missing is our heart to nurture it. We should keep in mind that not all successful endings has the perfect beginnings. He who has a good vision to his positive outcome where he puts his whole innocence to the thing he believes in will be the ones successful. He who cannot be easily driven away by the challenges along the way. He who can balance things appropriately. We should also remember that not all has a great beginning, we are all starting at a certain point. We only need the courage to take one step forward and bear whatever the risks it would be. We are not praised on a wonderful beginning, but rather on a successful ending. 

 I am blessed with another chapter in my life. Be whatever it wants to be! I'm saying I am positive of my future no matter how this beginning of my chapter starts. I'm positive that I will fill this chapter with something worthy enough to be treasure forever.

Sharing and Giving the Essence of Love

Woooh! Is it me or the wind breeze is jsut getting cold? I can't even  take a bath with ease. Waking up gets harder and harder, which is why I'm always late at school. Haha. Well I can't really complain about it, otherwise, Santa Claus wouldn't give me free candies. Hahaha! Christmas is approaching.

As the day of Christmas approaches, not only children, bu also adults shivers with excitement. This tradtition marks the taime for sharing and giving the essence of love.

As I've encounter lots of people,, most of them thinks that Christmas is only about giving and receiving gist from others. The idea is embarked in our minds that they tend to forget what the true essence of Christmas really is. In reality, a person expects to receive gifts from someone which make the case worse.

As the amateurs said, giving is better than receiving. However, we should not be forced to give, but rather, we give because we loved to. If you give forcibly, then do you still call it as giving? I believe it's not. THus, I believe the true essence of Christmas is about sharing and giving love.

The Diamonds Among Rocks

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." -Galatians 3:28-

As everyday moves along in this technological worlds, that stunned every human to crave more risks, it also increases the chances for us to be aware of the reality in life.

Times today have it's true problems. Discrimination is a problem which interrogates the possible opportunities that should be rightfully given to any individual. Humanity is now forgetting the real meaning of equality. Cases among women can now be observes worldwide. It all started when man had the ability to think and control his abilities over nature. The society gave harder tasks that requires great power to men and feminine works are given to women. But on the other hand, this created abusive actions to be done. Whoooosh! Discrimination started!

Women have always been treated as "underdogs" in the shadows of men. They were always second-in-command when it comes to power, and if not rare, they are always deprived when they attempt to take control. Lots of cases are reported, abuses, rapes and others.

In the Philippines, high positions are mostly occupied by males. Although there are some females in the congress, still the mark of discrimination doesn't fade. I know. women have undergone trials men didn't dared to go. They were tested by fate. It simply means they have lots of things they can do. If men are called the "rocks" who possess great strength and stability, I say women are diamonds that could shine brighter than the rocks.


We don't have the right to deny ones rights and opportunities, for we are all creations of God. Denying someone's rights is also like challenging their humanity. We were all born naked, We all suffer pains and cry. We all have problems and struggles. We are human. We are equal.

It's a great thing the law of equality was proclaimed, because of this, the diamonds could now shine and the rocks would be their foundation.

Give Them Something Good To Imitate!

"I wouldn't change you for the world, rather, I would change the world for you." Imagine your parents would say this to you. Isn't it one of the most pleasing words you'll ever hear from the mouths of your parents? Isn't it reassuring to feel that your parents are willing to take the risk and challenge from the moment you were fertilized in your mother's ovary, which is to take good care of you and turn you into a great individual?

Let us not forget the fact that the future is in the hands of our sons and daughters. So, we should give our children with proper care no matter what the situation is, be it good or bad. As the old says, children have never been very good at listening to their elders but they have never failed to imitate them. Children are great imitators, so we should give them something good to imitate.

Parents decided to have children, along with it is a big responsibility towards the future of their children. Every parent must never forget their responsibilities as a father and mother, for the moment your child goes out, there's nothing enough he needs than your love and care. Every children deserves happiness, no one could deny it from them. Every children deserves to be loved, he will never learn to love unless you show it to them. But above all, every children holds a key, a key to the bright future of the incoming generations.

This year's theme of the children's month celebration is " Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata." The theme means not only we should give them the proper care they need but to open up their hearts and soul to the whole new world. In this case, it will not be hard to hand them our dreams in life. Above all, they will be the greatest children who would make a better place to live in.

Don't Waste the Opportunity

Today we live in a world full of technological wonders. Colour television, supersonic jets, and personal computers are common things. We enjoy a high level of living that our ancestors never even dreamed of. However, hand in hand, with this affluence, these technologies has contribute to our laziness. There are signs that newer gadgets or inventions will invade our lives soon to take over most of our daily lives. 

Yes, there is no doubt that these gadgets have made life convenient for us human beings. In fact, these are already a part of our lives, and we cannot imagine living without them. We just keep using these without awareness and destroy our lives with it. If talking about communication, there is no doubt that these gadgets plays a big important role for us. We can see our love ones far away through the use of smart phones, television and others. 

But right now, are we using these gadgets in the most effective way? Today, most of our time gets wasted by the use of our gadgets, we expose ourselves too much on social media, when in fact, what we should be doing is to have a quality time with our families. When you go home from school, do you even notice your parents? or you just passed by straight to your room and affix yourself with the gadget you are holding.

Using gadgets comes with great responsibility. Too much use of these gadgets could lead you to something unusual. These gadgets should only be used in the most important times. Instead of being attached with the gadgets at home, we should use this to make our lives better and not to ruin our lives. Our families should always comes first aside from anything. Always remember, you can have lots of lots of new gadgets, but you can only have ONE FAMILY. So, don't waste the opportunity.

You Can Find Magic!

As always, having a good reading ability gives individuals countless of benefits. We all know that having the ability to read matters and is very important in our life. Reading has always been the key to a brighter future. In all aspects, we cannot deny the fact that everyday, we read and read. The society has come up with high standards, and in order to cope with them, first we should learn how to attain this ability.

A child can read and read for as long as he wants. Through this habit, he can learn and learn things he needs. With what he learned from reading is a vital tool for him to grow more and become a great individual. We all know that what he knows is a very good way and a bridge in expressing what he knows and feels.

"You can find magic wherever you look. Just sit back and relax, all you need is a book.", our teachers say. It's true that reading takes you to places to go when you have to stay where you are. In reading, we can expand our minds, open up our eyes, and eventually fill up our hearts, What greater way of having great knowledge than filling up our souls and hearts with great lessons and values we can use in our lives? None. 

No one knows what we will pursue in his upcoming days. But one thing is for sure; to be great occupants of roles in the society. Truly reading is the perfect way to relieve our minds, it serves a a powerful tool to spark the hope of success of a single individual.
